Description

The preparation of Poda Pitha usually involves soaking rice and black gram lentils overnight and then grinding them into a smooth batter. This batter is spread thinly on a heated griddle or pan to create the pancake base. The sweet filling made from jaggery and grated coconut is placed on one half of the pancake, and then the other half is folded over to cover the filling. The filled pancake is cooked until both sides are crispy and golden brown.

Poda Pitha is commonly made during festivals and special occasions in Odisha, especially during the festival of Raja Sankranti. It’s a favorite among locals and is enjoyed as a traditional treat with its unique blend of textures and flavors.
