sculptor making, Art installations, paintings By Tapan

Installation art becomes lively where ever it travel . The stories of shape-shifting; the prospect of the unsettled man. The project  inspired and developed through studies of social, cultural and my everyday experiences. I consider the city as classroom.  Especially through my experiences  working through different communities, NGO’s which supports marginalize peoples both in urban and in rural areas.  I tried to express those observations in  miniature art. Forms are  imitation of  cars, building, human figures, body parts, trees, mountains, animals and machines, etc. also found texts and symbol etc. with it. Every object constructed with different electronic and mechanical gadgets like, LED lights, seekers etc, and  different found objects with clay. every object has an individual function, one connecting with another through sources of different changeable lights, sounds, and color. Those ephemeral mediums are supporting to narrate in between  their own stories of  construction and destruction with light and shadow and sound effects, and taking about stories of shape-shifting of my thoughts and feelings about how I see my society and environment. I like to use those clay objects as toys to play differently in my studio space.  the concept of toy exist in my process, Because of size and scale and making process.  it  has possibility to play with them through various knowledge and manipulate  them together with history, science and present life .  I believe Toys are perfect mirror to the society . It reflects my historical journey and  a Chronological development  of  our society  with  nature .The presentation of the entire body of work represents a clockwise developments of my thoughts. Addresses themes of ecology and environment with different stories of  socio-political issues of  which I am also a part. In responding to issues that surround these themes, my first response is to express my immediate feelings in clay,  which Symbolizes my the gist of everyday life experience. Clay is to me a very appropriate medium for story telling in the project , as it is  instantly malleable and expressive, and is visually accessible to viewers.
